Medical Trust?
The Trust was established by FOP Lodge 1 to provide medical expense reimbursement benefits to retired officers after 20 years of service as a Lodge 1 member.

Committed to assisting career members of FOP Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1 with medical expenses during their retirement.
The FOP Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1 (“FOP Lodge 1”) entered into a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the City of Pittsburgh wherein the parties agreed that contributions would be made to a trust for retiree health benefits, for eligible retirees represented by FOP Lodge 1. The FOP Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1 Retiree Medical Trust was created to hold contributions in trust for retiree health benefits for career employees represented by FOP Lodge 1. The Trust’s goal is to ensure that all eligible police officers have access to the crucial benefits they need to help cover their health insurance premiums and other medical expenses in retirement.

Change of Employment Status, Address, or Family Composition.
You have a duty to notify the Trust Office of changes to your employment status or any significant life event that you think might affect your participation in the Trust. For example, if you retire or otherwise separate from employment, you might be entitled to begin receiving benefits, or to make self-pay contributions under COBRA. Also, you must notify the Trust Office if there is a change in mailing address or family composition (i.e., marriage, divorce, or birth or adoption of a child). Failure to notify the Trust Office may result in loss or delay of benefit payments.
